Foundation Program
The foundation
program is to jump start young dogs between the age 6~12 month with their
learning
. We start by building
a solid relationship with each dog, make the most of basic obedience training and
going on long walks for daily exercise, through this process pups begin to
connect to fine things
in nature, objectives we find while out hunting in the country. In the meantime
we teach pup pattern to the front and building self-assurance for the field,
with these repetitive exposure they start to learn
how to negotiate
obstacles such as
crossing a creek, go
under the barbwire fence
and
develop the skill to hunt different types of terrains. Soon they will discover where
birds are most likely to hold. As we progress
game birds are introduced
in
their habitual
settings with added
live firing to
break to the
gun. At the end of
the program, your dog will hunt to the front,
point birds,
gun broke and showing confidence
to find birds
for the gun. You may ask what makes us
unique--
Our focus is
preparing each pup both physically and mentally for the formal training,
the entire
program is setup for it to succeed
taking advantage those
spirited moments, make sure each new encounter in the hunting fields is always a positive
experience. The course are laid out without any pressure, pups are trained
not knowing they are being taught, setting the foundation learning "how-to-learn" from
the start to
finish, sending each dog down the right path with a perfect
start, building the foundation for future success and inspire the desire
to last a lifetime. 30day program, fee is $550.
Advanced Gun Dog Training

If you’ve
taken a moment to see the dogs
in the field
trial string,
I think you'll agree they are not your typical birddogs. You probably noticed
that each of the dogs clear exhibits my unique trademark -- breathtaking style,
that's direct result of the
gentle hands
approach in training.
Each of the building blocks in our program is taught through
understanding,
cooperation
and repetition
to the level the repetitive response becomes a natural reflex
to each and every dog. This
is the sure way to produce honest birddogs yet
they still remain spirited and retain the unquenchable desire to find game. After you select
me as your trainer, we will first discuss your goals are for the dog.
Through this conversation, I’ll gain a firm understanding of
what we need to accomplish
prior to the training starts, whether it's a
versatile hunting companion or
field trial
contenders; I will always devote my efforts to develop
your dog to their
fullest genetic potential, the
end result is
a dog
that will make you proud and leave your friends envy.
When your dog has the foundation
training in order and ready for their
next level of challenge,
this is where they belong.
From working with the wind to steady-to-wing and honoring the brace mate to
retrieve-to-hand,
course cover the entire spectrum of birddog training and physical
conditioning, you can count on
success will be measured in
every dog. The approach we take to developing competition dogs and hunting dogs
nearly identical, only difference being the range.
If
you are tired of the poor results and done listening to the lousy excuses, it's
time to make a change.
Make no mistake, we constantly
set the new standards for the competitions to shoot for,
our effort is often copied but rarely duplicated, monthly fee is $550 plus
birds, payment is due at drop off and invoiced monthly thereafter, including
forced retrieve, take the average
dog
90 days to complete the program. *** Starting in June 2008 our new rate is $550/
mo.
Forced Retrieve
Retrieve-to-hand is the finishing touch of a birddog. The one thing is certain,
nearly every
hunting story I heard implicating a down bird that was unable to recover, always
ends with ” I wish my dog would retrieve”. It may sound humorous, but it
often be the difference between having tasty birds for supper or sucking cup-o-noodle for the
night. Fortunately, this area of training is one of our specialty, in
facilitating
the dogs lacking of this instinct, majority of them can be corrected with trained retrieve or commonly known
as the "forced retrieve". In this program, dogs are first conditioned to
respond, learn that
refusal is not an option, further with positive and
constructive
reinforcement, they are taught to reach and grip for the objects with confidence, whether is fur or
feather. Follow by extensive drills in
mocked scenario
further
developing their marking and
tracking
skills
to refine the
ability
of recover downed game. In completion what we have is a dog that
can
rush to a downed game,
retrieve and
return to deliver it to hand, while showing all
the
enthusiasm
as they have been doing it naturally all their life.
If you have a good dog, give it a chance and allow me to put on that finishing
touch and complete their training with trained retrieve. Though, every dog is
different, it
usually take the average dog about 4~5 weeks to complete this program, fee is
$550 monthly plus birds,
usually 30days to finish a average dog.
Starting in June 2008 our new rate is $550/mo
Problem
Solving

Every dog trainer, armature or professional, has
developed a problem(s) in training one time or another.
More often than not, in the untrained hands, problems in birddog seldom get
resolved without turned in to another, likely, most people
just end up with the issues they can live with,
but when you end up with too many of these "tolerable problems"
what we have is a dog with more holes
than a beehive, problem dogs are no fun afield, some are flat out frustrating to gun over,
dog like these can very easily ruin friendships or spoil a hunting trip.
When you find you are not able to resolve these problem(s) on your own, seeking
professional opinion is the best thing for your dog before it gets worsen.
No matter how skilful the trainer may be, to diagnosis
problems through the internet or over the telephone is as performing a dental
examination as such, under the circumstance the result is rarely productive or meaningful.
It's for that reason, we
insist on meeting you to work with you in person and help you
to trouble shoot, identify the cause and offer solutions to overcome
whatever the problem may be. We have a very successful record in fixing gun-shy,
bird-shy as well as
many other hard-to-fix man made problems in
birddogs.
The evaluation is $50, at that time
if you elect to have us to correct the problem for you,
the $50 will be credited towards your first training bill.
Grooming
Field Clip
We require longer hair breeds such as Setters and Brittany
trimmed short before arriving here.
I believe a shorter clip can help the dogs stay cooler and remain burr free during
the training program, with that they can stay in field longer or interrupting the
workout. If you don't have access to this service,
we can do it for you. we contract this portion of service to a
local groom shop,
the cost is $50 and will be added to your monthly bill.
I'm always searching for
groomers who might be qualified and interested in jointing my team. If
interested, please
contact me with your offers and rates,
mobile service always preferred.
Parasite
manager Although fleas and ticks is not a common problem here in Colorado,
parasite control is always a requirement during the warmer seasons in our
facility.
Revolution® is the product we used to keep
unwanted bugs under control. Revolution is the safe, simple way to protect your dog
from a wide range of harmful parasites. This monthly topical application prevents
heartworms, round worms while controlling fleas and ear mites. It is safe for use on
puppies over six weeks of age and is waterproof after two hours, so it remains
effective even after swimming, rain or exposure to sunlight. You
have the rights to decline this offer but in the event your dog is
infested, it will be mandatory as it could affect
the health of other dogs in training. Cost is $12 /
monthly dose.
